Applied & Interdisciplinary Mathematics Ph.D, UMich


Current PhD students in non-Sociology programs who would like to pursue an interdisciplinary degree with Sociology can apply for a Student Initiated Doctoral Program (SIDP). Students who wish to be considered for a SIDP with Sociology must:

  • Be a current doctoral student in a program outside of Sociology
  • Have the support of a faculty mentor in the Department of Sociology who would serve as their advisor
  • Meet with the Graduate Directors from both their home program and Sociology to develop a degree program
